Giri - Ponomariov, 39th Dortmund Round 7

While going through the Dortmund and Biel games last night, I found the above game strangely captivating. The game itself is nothing special, but I find Giri's simple but logical play quite appealing and have chosen to annotate this game here. The game represents a smooth transition from superb opening preparation (my assumption), to skillful manoeuvring in the middlegame and finally to good endgame technique.

Introduction

So, I have finally decided to migrate from Multiply to blogger which is a few times more user friendly for anyone who wants to write about chess on the net. Migration will take time and I'm looking to import only chess relevant posts here.

Everything written within these pages will be on chess, which includes analysis, book reviews, tournament reports, training articles and general musings about the chess scene around the region.
